What is Decarbonization?

Chile is a country that in the last 30 years has stood out for its great presence in the industry, achieving important milestones at a national and international level. The geography of our country has made us rethink our way of generating energy for our territory, as well as the impact that the drought has had in our northern area and throughout the country that puts us in a complicated scenario for the future.

The generation of clean energy has been of vital importance since the beginning of the XXI century becoming one of the main concerns of this new decade where new concepts appear in the search to address the existing problems. One of these concepts, especially the decarbonization process, is present in most industries and challenges are being built that leave us against time to act to change our current system, many of them based on non-renewable energies.

What is decarbonization?

This concept is aimed at actions to eliminate the consumption of fossil fuels that contain carbon in their molecular structure and whose combustion releases energy, pollutants - which affect the health of people and ecosystems - and greenhouse gases. The most abundant of the greenhouse gases produced by human activities is carbon dioxide (CO2), which causes warming near the earth's surface with consequences for climate on a global scale. Since decarbonization in the last decade, emphasis has been placed on reducing the world's carbon footprint, with each of the world's leaders making efforts to reduce pollution and seek clean energy for the environment.
